Description

Every creative process has its constraint: for Champagne Dom Pérignon, it is the vintage. An absolute commitment to bear witness to the year, whatever the challenges. It takes at least eight years of elaboration for Dom Pérignon Vintage to reach the desired harmony of Dom Pérignon, and thus perpetuate its creative heritage.

The 2010 Vintage: The year 2010 has made declaring the vintage a real challenge. The harvest began with botrytis in the Pinot Noirs and part of the crop had to be sacrificed to save the best parcels. The journey of the year and the decisions taken are reflected in a balance that combines vigour and grace. On the nose, it evokes both the freshness of an English garden after the rain and the sweetness of a tropical orchard. It has an earthy depth that creates a strong, welcoming presence on the palate.

Presented in its luxurious box, the limited edition Dom Pérignon Vintage 2010 X Lady Gaga is the ideal gift idea.

Tasting notes

A lively light Champagne that sparkles with a thousand and one colours, creating a wave of resplendent emotions.

The sweetness of tropical fruit - green mango, melon, pineapple - instantly shines. Then it gives way to more temperate notes, the tingling of an orange peel, the mist of a mandarin. The wine breathes and the freshness is revealed. The flower after the rain. A sensation of peony, jasmine and lilac.

Then the wine imposes its ample, full, massive presence. A serene sensation quickly dominates and the tactile aspect takes over from the aromatic. The body unfolds: generous, firm and directed. Then it contracts, revealing the wine on spices and pepper. The energy is prolonged and the finish shines, saline.

Food pairings

For this 2010 Dom Pérignon Vintage, the perfect pairings are: caviar, seafood, a prawns' Carpaccio, grilled langoustines, as well as leaner fish, such as turbot, and white meats, a mushroom tartlet or a duck confit.

Technical sheet

Blend : Pinot Noir, Chardonnay

Vinification : Dom Pérignon is vintage champagne only. Only the best grapes from a single year are chosen. Each vintage is unique and expresses the unique character of the seasons. Dom Pérignon dares not to declare a vintage if the result is not exceptional. After more than eight years in the cellar, the wine reflects the perfect balance of Dom Pérignon, its most beautiful promise. It is Dom Pérignon Vintage, the Plénitude of harmony.

Characteristics : The 2010 vintage: The winter was rigorous, the spring dry and late. At the end of a particularly sunny decade, this freshness is surprising. The summer was hot but not excessively so, with only two days of diluvian rain disrupting the ideal trajectory. Within a few days, botrytis developed on the grapes, mainly Pinot Noir. A race against time began: the grapes were not yet fully mature, but a decision had to be quickly made.
Dom Pérignon deployed its full resources on establishing a perfect map of the maturity and health of each plot in its vineyard. Every minute counted. This expert vision of the situation makes it possible to anticipate the rescue of excellent Pinot Noirs. The harvest is drastic, the sacrifice painful. Dom Pérignon decides to devote himself exclusively to the spared grapes. Inspired and executed with precision, the decision proved to be right. The challenge was met: Dom Pérignon declared this vintage "saved from the waters".
