A blend of 38 wines from 9 different years, with the youngest from 2015 and the oldest from 2005, Krug Rosé 27th Edition is an unexpected rosé champagne combining elegance and boldness – inspired by the dream of the fifth generation of the House of Krug, to design a rosé champagne that didn’t exist, a rosé champagne that could be recreated every year. Krug Rosé expresses a broad palette of plot wines, with fruity characters of all kinds, and spicy notes of astonishing breadth and depth. Around seven years in the cellar give this 27th Edition its unique expression and elegance.
The Krug exception, a unique champagne. Krug’s methods guarantee the highest quality, its 19-hectare vineyard, its demanding 56-hectare sourcing and the three million bottles that have been waiting in its cellars for many years make it the benchmark for Prestige Champagne.
Alcohol degree : 12,5%.
Visually, its subtle pale pink color is synonymous with elegance.
On the nose
On the nose, it reveals aromas of rosehip, smoked ham, blackberry, currant, peony, pepper and pink grapefruit.
In the mouth
On the palate, delicate notes of honey, citrus and dried fruits accompany a long final note that the fine bubbles sublimate.
Unexpectedly, Krug Rosé 27th Edition is an ideal accompaniment to very savory dishes. Enjoy it with foie gras, lamb, game, white meat, venison or spicy dishes. Krug Rosé is not recommended as an accompaniment to unless it is very lightly sweetened.
Serve between 9 and 12°C.
Like all Krug Champagnes, Krug Rosé 27th Edition will continue to develop over time.
Krug Rosé 27th Edition is a blend of 38 wines from 9 different years, with the youngest from 2015 and the oldest from 2005. Its final composition is 57% Pinot Noir, 23% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier. In all, reserve wines from the House’s vast library made up 55% of the final blend for this Édition de Krug Rosé.
The 27th Edition is structured around the 2015 harvest, a year marked by unprecedented heat and drought during the spring and summer, slowing the development of the grapes. Reasonable temperatures at the end of August allowed the grapes to grow optimally. For the final creation, the year’s wines were blended with reserve wines from parcels selected from 8 other years.
