Cristal Vintage 2014
The most famous wine of Louis Roederer was created in 1876 to meet the demanding taste of Tsar Alexander II. The emperor asked Louis Roederer to reserve for him each year the best vintage of the House, which he particularly appreciated. To enhance its uniqueness, this exceptional champagne was bottled in a flat-bottomed crystal bottle. From this time, this exceptional cuvee will bear the name of this precious material, exalting its light and transparency.
A wine of pure pleasure, of great gastronomy, the Cristal vintage is delicate and powerful at the same time, all in subtlety and precision. The 2014 vintage is “delicious, saline and refined… definitely Cristal .” — Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, Cellar Master
The Louis Roederer Cristal vintage is ideal for your special occasions.
Tasting Notes
Golden color, intense, bright and brilliant. The effervescence is dynamic, with a continuous succession of fine bubbles clouds.
The bouquet is intense, fragrant and of great purity. Concentrated and candied citrus fruits mingle delicately with notes of harvest and lightly toasted almonds. A sensation of a beautiful and generous maturity of fruit, tempered by fresh and acidic bounces, delicate and energetic.
The mouth is fruity and the texture is silky, amplified by a soft and elegant effervescence perfectly integrated. The purity and perfection of the ripe yellow fruit merges with the intense chalky freshness, typical of Cristal, both powdery and saline. The mid-palate is dense, juicy, concentrated, and long, thanks to the spicy and seductive structure of the partial maturation in oak tuns. The finish goes to a crescendo, revealing a full texture of grain and velvet wrapped in a long, saline and sublimely elegant finish.
