Vintage 2012: After a mild winter, spring frosts and hail damaged the vineyards. By mid-July, summer had arrived in earnest, with dry heat and enough sunshine to bring the grapes to perfect ripeness across all the crus. The rain returned at the end of September, just as the harvest began. Although marked by difficult weather conditions, 2012 nevertheless produced promising wines. Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque Rosé 2012 is a cuvée characterised by the aromatic richness and freshness of Chardonnay, balanced by the frank and lush grapes of Pinot Noir and fruity Meunier.
A limpid golden colour, of a beautiful clarity, with subtle green reflections.
On the nose
Notes of white flowers mingle with those of white peach, pear and lemon.
In the mouth
A freshness serving a beautiful harmony.
The Cuvée Belle Époque is a perfect aperitif. At the table, its freshness and floral fragrances blend perfectly with the iodine accents of shellfish and fish, as well as the melting of white meats. All of these pairings celebrate a plate that combines elegance and flavour.
Serve around 12°C
Like all wines, champagne can be kept for varying lengths of time, depending on the type. Under optimal storage conditions, champagne can be kept for 1 to 2 years for Brut cuvées, and up to 4/5 years or even longer for vintage and prestige champagnes. Whatever happens, rest assured that you'll never be able to open your champagne too early, as the Champagne Houses only release their cuvées when they have reached perfect ripeness and are ready for immediate consumption.
50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir, 5% Meunier. Although Perrier-Jouët is renowned for its Chardonnay vineyards, it also has remarkable parcels of Pinot Noir. Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque, whose blend contains the two grape varieties in almost equal proportions, illustrates this perfectly. This exceptional vintage cuvée is also an expression of Perrier-Jouët’s expertise in the art of blending. The Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims is chosen not for its power but to support and sublimate the delicate structure of the Chardonnay from the Grand Cru of Cramant and Avize. A small quantity of Meunier de Dizy completes the balance between the two other grape varieties.
