Veuve ClicquotExtra Brut Extra Old 3 Bottle (0.75L) | Box
At Veuve Clicquot, reserve wines play an essential role in the art of blending, bringing depth and complexity. The third edition of the Extra Brut Extra Old collection testifies to the House’s historic expertise in blending. Veuve Clicquot Extra Brut Extra Old 3 is composed of 8 years selected from the House’s most prestigious reserve wines: 1990, 1998, 1999, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013 and 2014. This cuvée has been made with a double aging process (a minimum of 2 years in vat, and a second 3 years in bottle) and benefits from an exceptionally low sugar dosage. The result is a champagne that is both pure and sophisticated, fresh and opulent.

As soon as it is released into the glass, its fine bubbles form a refined necklace. The color is intense, with hints of gold.
On the nose
The first nose exhales notes of white flowers (Acacia), citrus (lime, lemon zest), white fruit (grape), bread dough, orange peel and candied lemon.
In the mouth
The attack is as powerful as it is silky. Another of the House's major assets, this smoothness is underlined by the very light effervescence that often accompanies older champagnes: the pressure that produces the fine bubbles of Extra brut Extra Old is only 4.5 bar, instead of the usual 6 bar for non-vintage champagnes.
Veuve Clicquot Extra Brut Extra Old 3 lends itself magnificently to all occasions, around an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a dish. Its purity is best appreciated with balanced, fresh cuisine. From vegetables to early fruit, from iodized products such as fresh seaweed to shellfish, or even with fresh herbs.
To appreciate all its finesse and aromas, champagne should be enjoyed chilled (but not iced). Depending on the cuvée, the ideal serving temperature is between 8 and 12°C.
Like all wines, champagne can be kept for varying lengths of time, depending on the type. Under optimal storage conditions, champagne can be kept for 1 to 2 years for Brut cuvées, and up to 4/5 years or even longer for vintage and prestige champagnes. Whatever happens, rest assured that you'll never be able to open your champagne too early, as the Champagne Houses only release their cuvées when they have reached perfect ripeness and are ready for immediate consumption.
