An exaltation of the senses! The robe is brilliant, with some golden reflections. The bubble is shimmering and very fine.
The first nose reveals a saline and mineral framework, then floral notes (acacia, peony), fresh fruit (vine peach, pear) and finally more toasted notes of hazelnut and roasted almonds. With agitation, the bouquet becomes greedy and voluptuous with notes of brioche, nougat, ginger and candied lemon.
There is a lot of flesh and substance. The texture is crisp and silky. The minerality of the chalk resonates brilliantly with this fleshy structure and contributes to the length. The finish is fresh and generous, suggesting a discreet dosage followed by a long period of post-disgorgement rest that does not disturb the natural balance of the wine.
Ideal as an aperitif, with smoked meats, shellfish, appetizers, fish and starters.
Ideal serving temperature : Serve between 10 and 12 °C.
Blend : The blend of La Grande Dame 2008 Rosé is similar to the one of La Grande Dame, namely 92% Pinot Noir and 8% Chardonnay, thus offering a true balance between power and elegance, completed by the addition of 14% red wine in the final blend.
