James Suckling is an American wine and cigar critic, and one of the most influential in the wine world, with over 200,000 tastings to his name.

39,000 wines were judged this year by James Suckling and his team of seven tasters\/editors, the highest number of wines ever examined in one year, beating last year’s record of around 32,000 wines. <\/p>\n

Wines are evaluated on a 100-point scale <\/strong>(rating system established by Robert Parker).<\/p>\n

100 points is the highest score a wine can achieve, and is very rarely awarded as it is reserved for the best of the best<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A wine with a score of 95 points or more will receive an A+ rating and be considered a must-buy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A wine with a score of 90 points or more is exceptional, and will receive an A rating.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A wine rated below 88 points may still be worthwhile, but caution is advised.
\nBarrel-rated or unfinished wines are rated with two point ranges, such as 90-91 or 92-93. <\/p>\n
