BollingerLa Grande Année Rosé 2014 Bottle (0.75L) | Naked Bottle
A rosé from Bollinger, yes, but an unusual one: that was Madame Bollinger’s choice. Thus was born Bollinger La Grande Année Rosé 2014, an exceptional and timeless champagne, between amplitude and refinement, a subtle blend of a great champagne and a red wine from a unique plot: the famous “Côte aux Enfants”.
Vintage 2014: 2014 was a year of contrasts. A rainy autumn and winter were followed by two very dry, sunny months. Then summer, particularly August, was marked by particularly cold weather. Thanks to the expertise of Maison Bollinger, the quality of the grapes was preserved and the musts achieved a fine balance between ripeness and acidity.
Delicate pink hues.
On the nose
A veritable mosaic of fruit: aromas of raspberry, wild strawberry, cherry... Notes of peach and quince complete this fruity bouquet.
In the mouth
A creamy effervescence, magnificent volume on the palate and long aromatic persistence characterize this wine. Beautiful acidity and salinity accompany flavors of orchard fruits and berries.
Refined and full-bodied, La Grande Année Rosé 2014 sublimates the finest gastronomic moments for perfectly accomplished pairings.
To bring out its unique style, bouquet and aromas, we recommend serving this wine between 8 and 10°C.
You can enjoy La Grande Année Rosé 2014 now, or choose to let it age in the cellar.
61% Pinot Noir and 39% Chardonnay. La Grande Année 2014 is a blend of 19 crus, mainly from Aÿ and Verzenay for the Pinot Noirs, and from Chouilly and Oiry for the Chardonnays.
Fermentation takes place entirely in oak barrels, and maturation takes place under corks, for a cellar ageing time more than twice as long as the Appellation rules.
Vinified exclusively in old oak barrels: Great wines are always born in barrels. The Big Year is the perfect representation of this. A rare Champagne tradition, since Champagne Bollinger remains one of the last houses to still vinify its great wines in barrels. However, its contribution is essential, since micro-oxygenation gives the wine extraordinary ageing potential.
After vinification in small old oak barrels and prolonged ageing on the lees, each bottle of La Grande Année Rosé is still stirred and disgorged by hand. It reflects all the know-how and expertise of the House, capable of creating a cuvée whose quality is matched only by its purity.
The moderate dosage is 8 grams per liter. g/liter
