Logo Moët & Chandon - Champmarket

Since 1743, sharing their champagnes with the world has been Moët & Chandon’s inspiration and raison d’être.

Champagne's largest winegrowing estate

The story begins in the heart of the Moët & Chandon vineyard, Champagne’s largest winegrowing estate.

Greatness is richness and allows us to choose the best. Of Moët & Chandon’s 1,150 hectares of rich limestone soil, 50% are classified as Grands Crus and 25% as Premier Crus.

Benoit Gouez, guarantor of the Moët & Chandon style

Cellar Master Benoît Gouez exercises his art to guarantee the distinctive character of Moët & Chandon champagnes. His expertise and integrity are essential to extracting the very best from each harvest and “bringing out and sublimating the special characteristics of each grape harvested in Champagne”. His deep respect for the intrinsic quality of the fruit makes him the ideal guarantor of the Moët & Chandon style.

the distinctive Moët & Chandon style

The Moët & Chandon style is singular: bright fruitiness, a savory palate and elegant maturity, the result of a slow, gradual progression from vineyard to cellar. Each stage of the process relies on the complementary know-how of the winemakers, cellar staff, oenological teams and other professionals, all united by the strong principles that make up the fundamental values of the company.

The Grand Vintage signature

The vintage champagnes in the Grand Vintage Moët & Chandon collection are made from the harvest of a single, particularly exceptional year.

Each Grand Vintage is unique. Each possesses inimitable qualities that distinguish it from the other wines of the House, reflecting a remarkable annual harvest. Each Grand Vintage is the expression of a particular year, reflecting the know-how, experience and expertise of Moët & Chandon’s cellar master, Benoît Gouez. Since 1842, the House has produced 76 vintage champagnes, all carefully preserved in the Réserve des Grands Vintages, at the heart of the Moët & Chandon cellars.

Moët & Chandon offers a wide selection of champagnes, the most emblematic of which is Brut Impérial. The range is completed by Rosé Impérial, Grand Vintage and Grand Vintage Rosé (the House’s 2 vintage champagnes) and 2 cuvées specially designed to be enjoyed on ice: Ice Impérial and Ice Impérial Rosé.

An emblematic Moët cuvee since 1869, Moët Brut Impérial owes its name to Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, who visited the Moët & Chandon estate in Épernay many times and awarded Jean-Rémy Moët the Légion d’Honneur.

Moët & Chandon, with its long history and unique heritage in top-of-the-range champagne production, is a world-renowned institution. It is also associated with prestigious events of international renown, enhancing its reputation and prestige (tennis competitions, Formula 1, cinema, etc.). Moët & Chandon is now the world’s best-selling Champagne House.

Moët & Chandon champagnes can be kept for several years, but the recommended storage time varies according to the type of champagne. The Brut and Rosé Impérial can be tasted within 3 years of purchase, while the Vintage can be enjoyed within 5 to 7 years.

Moët & Chandon has been distinguished by its expertise and tradition of excellence in the production of top-quality champagne for over 270 years. It also uses innovative techniques to constantly improve the quality of its champagnes, attesting to its perpetual quest for excellence.

Moët & Chandon champagne is best served chilled, between 6 and 8 degrees, in a slender flute. We recommend that you savor it slowly to fully appreciate its subtle aromas and flavors.

To bring out the best in Moët & Chandon champagnes, we recommend opting for raw products (sushi, carpaccio, sashimi, etc.) and fresh fruit or vegetables with a salty, iodized or spicy contrast. These dishes will harmonize perfectly with the complexity and elegance of these exceptional champagnes.
