Moët & ChandonBrut Imperial Balthazar (12L) | Naked Bottle
Moët & Chandon Brut Imperial Balthazar is a vibrant and generous champagne distinguished by its bright fruitiness, its seductive palate and its elegant maturity. An emblematic cuvée of the Moët & Chandon Champagne House since 1869, Moët Impérial is its most accomplished and universal expression.
Good to know: The bottle refreshment should be gradual so as not to “break” its foam and bouquet.
An elegant golden yellow colour with green highlights.
On the nose
Its bright nose reveals white fruits (apple, pear, white peach) and citrus fruits (lemon), complemented by floral nuances (lime blossom) and blond notes (brioche and fresh nuts).
In the mouth
A subtle palate: Tasty and melted mouth, combining generosity and subtlety, full and tasty, then crisp and delicately fresh (pome fruits), it embodies the balance of champagne.
From aperitif to dessert: with sushi or oysters, a roast free-range chicken and its fine herb juice, or with a fine white peach tart and its light white chocolate cream.
Serve between 8 and 10 °C.
Like all wines, champagne can be kept for varying lengths of time, depending on the type. Under optimal storage conditions, champagne can be kept for 1 to 2 years for Brut cuvées, and up to 4/5 years or even longer for vintage and prestige champagnes. Whatever happens, rest assured that you'll never be able to open your champagne too early, as the Champagne Houses only release their cuvées when they have reached perfect ripeness and are ready for immediate consumption.
Moët Impérial is a perfectly accomplished blend of more than 200 crus, in which the three Champagne grape varieties complement each other harmoniously: 30 to 40% Pinot Noir, 30 to 40% Meunier, 20 to 30% Chardonnay. 20 to 30% of specially selected reserve wines complete the blend and reinforce its maturity, complexity and consistency. Only the incomparable richness of Moët & Chandon’s land allows such a subtle and complex elaboration.
Complete, generous and dynamic, Moet & Chandon wines benefit from the know-how of the oenologists in the different stages of the wine-making process. The systematic carrying out of malolactic fermentation naturally ensures a slight reduction in the classic acidity of Champagne wines that can block access to other sensations. The palate is softer. The systematic use of Pinot Meunier in the blend brings its juicy and fleshy texture, drives and enhances the richness of the Chardonnay, and results in wines of beautiful maturity. The maturation process, which lasts about twice as long for each cuvée as the legal period, enriches and softens the wine. A dosage precisely adapted to each cuvée provides the final touch to refine the whole.
