Barons de RothschildTriptyque 2018 Bottle (0.75L) | Naked Bottle
Cuvée Barons de Rothschild Triptyque 2018 is a daring approach to vintage champagne, the link between terroir and precision oenology. Inspired by the Rothschild family’s Grands Vins, Cellar Master Guillaume Lété has set himself the challenge of composing a Vintage cuvée each year by blending the best parcels from the same three Grands Crus: Avize, Ambonnay and Aÿ, selected for their complementarity true to the House style.
The 2018 vintage in Champagne was marked by a succession of exceptional weather conditions. The year began with a rainy winter followed by a warm, stormy spring, which rapidly accelerated vine growth. The dry, sunny summer enabled optimal ripening of the grapes, ideal for the harvest which took place at the end of August.
2018 was thus distinguished by an abundant harvest, both in quantity and quality, revealing the complexity and richness of the cuvées resulting from this vintage, both sunny and qualitative.
The color is a brilliant gold with silvery highlights, and the effervescence is fine and generous.
On the nose
A delicate, bewitching nose that reveals a beautiful chalky minerality, accompanied by aromas of ripe grapefruit, fresh raspberry and cherry. On opening, spicier, slightly peppery notes emerge.
In the mouth
An ample attack, carried by the texture of the Ambonnay terroir and greedy aromas of fresh red fruit. The Avize Chardonnays then reveal their saline, lemony dimension, offering freshness and verticality. Harmoniously linked by the structure of the Pinot Noir d'Aÿ, this Grand Vin de Champagne reveals a long finish, sustained by beautiful bitters and notes of orange peel.
The Barons de Rothschild Vintage 2014 champagne will stand out as an aperitif, or go perfectly with hot or cold shellfish or poultry in sauce such as a duck breast.
