Louis RoedererBlanc de Blancs 2016 Bottle (0.75L) | Gift box
Simply delicious! Louis Roederer Blanc de Blancs 2016 Champagne with case reveals the beautiful signature of Avize’s white soils capable of achieving that rare Chardonnay balance of energy, strength and finesse.
Vintage 2016: The year 2016 was characterized by a particularly pronounced climatic pendulum: after a cool, wet, rather late spring, the summer was dry and hot, marked by a scorching spell at the end of August and a dry, sunny harvest period ensuring that the grapes ripened beautifully. These dry and bright conditions benefited the Pinot Noir grapes, which ripened to an intense fruity character and a silky texture. The Chardonnays are not to be outdone, with a more classic, chiseled and saline look. The harvest took place from September 15 to October 1, 2016.
Blanc de Blancs 2016 has a golden yellow color with luminous highlights, as well as a soft, regular, ultra-fine and delicate effervescence.
On the nose
Bouquet of white flowers (jasmine, orange blossom), citrus zest (lemon) and harvest. Fresh iodine, sea spray, sea breeze, chalk powder. On aeration, a few smoky notes, a reductive, shell-like quality, recall roasted almonds.
In the mouth
The attack is creamy and caressing, soft and delicate, with a velvety, coated texture that quickly gives way to fresh, marine, powdery and concentrated sensations. The impression of biting into a ripe, juicy fruit bursting with long, zesty, salivating freshness. The finish is suave, saline, stretched out like a sunbeam, at once luminous and drying without ever being brittle.
This champagne is ideal as an aperitif or at the start of a meal.
To appreciate all its finesse and aromas, champagne should be enjoyed chilled (but not iced). Depending on the cuvée, the ideal serving temperature is between 8 and 12°C.
Like all wines, champagne can be kept for varying lengths of time, depending on the type. Under optimal storage conditions, champagne can be kept for 1 to 2 years for Brut cuvées, and up to 4/5 years or even longer for vintage and prestige champagnes. Whatever happens, rest assured that you'll never be able to open your champagne too early, as the Champagne Houses only release their cuvées when they have reached perfect ripeness and are ready for immediate consumption.
100% Chardonnay – The Blanc de Blancs Vintage is aged for an average of 5 years on lees and also benefits from a minimum of 6 months rest after disgorgement to perfect its maturity.
As early as 1830, Louis Roederer acquired a great knowledge of the terroirs, practiced separate vinification and mastered effervescence. In the heart of the Côte des Blancs, where Chardonnay thrives on limestone soils, Louis Roederer has selected an exceptional Grand Cru, Avize, whose typicality and complementarity produce intense wines expressing finesse and aromatic richness.
Cuvée Blanc de Blancs Vintage is partially vinified in wood (28%), and malolactic fermentation has not been carried out to preserve the wine’s freshness.
