A great champagne is first and foremost a great wine! And in Mesnil-sur-Oger, where Maison Delamotte was founded in 1760, this is a golden rule. If Delamotte is one of the oldest Champagne houses, it’s because it respects tradition, serves taste and makes wines in the heart of the mythical Côte des Blancs.

    Assembly :
Blend of 60% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 5% Meunier.
    Vinification :
In the Brut bottle, an orchestra of three grape varieties plays a particularly balanced score. The 60% Chardonnay provides the foundation for its structure, while the 35% Pinot Noir from Tours-sur-Marne, Bouzy and Ambonnay adds depth and fruitiness. The 5% pinot meunier adds aromatic density to the blend. Without ever assaulting the palate, this champagne is powerful. Freshness and roundness combine for a clean, fruity finish, setting the stage for a long, balanced and elegant wine.

After thirty to thirty-six months’ ageing on the lees, a slight dosage is added to Delamotte brut champagne, as to the entire Delamotte range.

From Cramant to Mesnil-sur-Oger, via Avize and Oger, this is the terroir of the Côte des Blancs. Its location is one of our greatest assets. This chalky soil, its flora and its hillside-facing vines give the grapes their exceptional character and produce delicate, consistent champagnes. Claiming this terroir, getting the best out of it with total respect for the vines and the environment, that’s the Delamotte spirit.
