DrappierRéserve de l'Oenothèque 2006 Magnum (1.5L) | Naked Bottle
Drappier Réserve de l’Oenothèque 2006 magnum is an intense champagne, part of the Réserve de l’Oenothèque collection, the living memory of this family Champagne house. Housed in Cistercian cellars dating back to the 12th century, the collection brings to light some very rare old vintages. When they are ready to reveal the intensity and originality of their year of birth, the house disgorges them in small series, sometimes even individually.
The Drappier vineyard covers 100 hectares and represents the essential asset of the Champagne House’s vintages. Since 1808, the family has been able to select particularly well exposed and extremely chalky parcels, mostly located around Urville, where the Pinot Noir, which is in the majority, finds its most beautiful expression and allows the production of very elegant aromatic wines.
A golden color with copper highlights.
On the nose
A fine, delicate nose with aromas of red fruit, vine peaches and quince jelly.
In the mouth
A powerful wine on the palate, with notes of ripe dried fruit, a touch of spice and a fresh finish coated with a very mellow liqueur, matured in small oak barrels and finely toasted.
Ideal as an aperitif or with a meal.
Serve at 8-10°C.
Like all wines, champagne can be kept for varying lengths of time, depending on the type. Under optimal storage conditions, champagne can be kept for 1 to 2 years for Brut cuvées, and up to 4/5 years or even longer for vintage and prestige champagnes. Whatever happens, rest assured that you'll never be able to open your champagne too early, as the Champagne Houses only release their cuvées when they have reached perfect ripeness and are ready for immediate consumption.
75% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay, 10% Meunier.
Like all Drappier champagnes, this blend comes exclusively from the first press. Very low sulfur content. Total acidity 5.3 H2SO4. Low dosage of 4.5g/L with a liqueur matured for 15 years in oak barrels. From pressing to bottling, as many operations as possible are carried out by gravity, without pumping. This prevents oxidation and preserves all the natural flavors of the base wines. The great Pinot Noirs terroirs represent the heart of the blend, where richness and power are favored.
This wine has been cellared on laths for 15 years.
