Louis RoedererBrut Rosé 2013 Magnum (1.5L) | Box
Louis Roederer Rosé 2013 magnum with Luxe case stands out for its freshness, balance and lightness. This champagne is a real charmer! From a vintage of freshness, Rosé 2013 reveals all the juicy substance of the Pinot Noirs from the precocious, south-facing clay-limestone terroir of Cumières, refined and stretched by the freshness of the north-facing Chardonnays from Chouilly.
The year 2013:The year 2013 is characterized by a particularly late cycle! The interminable winter gave way to a timid spring. We had to wait until the first days of July to see full flowering in the vineyards… It had been a long time since we had seen this in Champagne! Fortunately, the summer was radiant, with record-breaking sunshine and low rainfall, very favorable to the ripening of Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. The October harvest again took place in cool autumn weather, producing elegant, fresh wines… great “classics”.
Light, bright, glossy pink. Ultra-fine, regular and calm effervescence. Perfectly distributed across the entire width of the glass.
On the nose
Complex bouquet dominated by an almost mentholated freshness and tangy fruits, wild strawberry and raspberry. Then come the spicy, smoky accents typical of Cumières Pinot Noir; dried fruit, roasted almonds and cocoa beans. There are also saline notes reminiscent of seaside spray.
In the mouth
Soft and unctuous on the palate, but also very fresh and piercing. This immediate, perfectly integrated combination of substance and freshness sets the tone: great freshness, balance, length and lightness. The texture gradually refines on the palate, giving a beautiful satin finish supported by a saline perception on the tongue and light tannic notes reminiscent of the flesh and skin of Pinot Noir grapes. The finish is fresh, long and endless.
To appreciate all its finesse and aromas, champagne should be enjoyed chilled (but not iced). Depending on the cuvée, the ideal serving temperature is between 8 and 12°C.
Like all wines, champagne can be kept for varying lengths of time, depending on the type. Under optimal storage conditions, champagne can be kept for 1 to 2 years for Brut cuvées, and up to 4/5 years or even longer for vintage and prestige champagnes. Whatever happens, rest assured that you'll never be able to open your champagne too early, as the Champagne Houses only release their cuvées when they have reached perfect ripeness and are ready for immediate consumption.
67% Pinot Noir and 33% Chardonnay, 33% of which are vinified in oak casks. 22% malolactic fermentation.
A great Champagne Rosé must be made from grapes that have reached a good level of ripeness, which is sometimes difficult to achieve in the Champagne climate. That’s why Louis Roederer chose to invest in Cumières, where the shallow clay-limestone soils, benefiting from a south-facing exposure and the luminosity enhanced by the Marne river, enable high phenolic ripeness.
To elaborate its rosé champagnes, Louis Roederer has developed over the years a way that is quite unique in Champagne. Called “infusion” in the House, it allows to extract the juicy and ripe side of the Pinot Noir while preserving a great freshness. So some Chardonnay juice is poured into a Pinot Noir maceration, to ferment together and integrate perfectly.
Cuvée Rosé 2013 has been aged for 4 years in bottle, and also benefits from a 6-month rest period after disgorgement to perfect its maturity.
