Veuve ClicquotExtra Brut Extra Old 4 Bottle (0.75L) | Naked Bottle
At Veuve Clicquot, reserve wines play an essential role in the art of blending its champagnes, giving them depth, complexity and sophistication. Extra Brut Extra Old bears witness to the House’s historic expertise in this area. Veuve Clicquot Extra Brut Extra Old 4 is in fact a blend composed exclusively of these highly prized reserve wines. The 4th edition of the Extra Brut Extra Old cuvée is a blend of six of Veuve Clicquot’s most prestigious reserve wines from 1996, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014. The Extra Brut dosage allows these mature or ‘spicy’ reserve wines to bring concentration and depth to the blend. The wines are aged in bottle in the Crayères de la Maison for at least three years before being disgorged, giving them a unique texture and aromatic complexity.

As soon as it is released into the glass, its very fine bubbles form a refined necklace. The colour is intense, with hints of gold.
On the nose
The first nose gives off notes of white flowers (Acacia), citrus (lime, lemon zest), white fruit (grapes), bread dough, orange peel and candied lemon.
In the mouth
The attack is as powerful as it is silky. Another of the House's major assets is that this smoothness is underlined by a very light effervescence that often accompanies the oldest champagnes: the pressure that produces the fine bubbles of Extra brut Extra Old is only 4.5 bar instead of the usual 6 bar for non-vintage champagnes.
Veuve Clicquot Extra Brut Extra Old lends itself magnificently to all occasions, as an aperitif or with a dish. Its purity and freshness will be appreciated with refined cuisine, raw products, tartars, ceviche, citrus peel, seafood or even silky textures and delicate dishes.
To appreciate all its finesse and aromas, champagne should be enjoyed chilled (but not iced). Depending on the cuvée, the ideal serving temperature is between 8 and 12°C.
Like all wines, champagne can be kept for varying lengths of time, depending on the type. Under optimal storage conditions, champagne can be kept for 1 to 2 years for Brut cuvées, and up to 4/5 years or even longer for vintage and prestige champagnes. Whatever happens, rest assured that you'll never be able to open your champagne too early, as the Champagne Houses only release their cuvées when they have reached perfect ripeness and are ready for immediate consumption.
