Brut Nature Trop m'en faut ! Coteaux Champenois Bottle (0.75L) | Naked Bottle

Drappier Brut Nature Trop m’en faut ! Coteaux Champenois is part of Drappier’s Les Éphémères Collection. This cuvée is a new chapter in Drappier’s commitment to preserving plant diversity in Champagne. The name “Trop m’en faut” is a mockery of “Fromenteau”, the forgotten Champagne grape variety from which this cuvée was created, also known as Pinot Gris.

The Collection Les Éphémères de Drappier: Antoine, Hugo and Michel Drappier draw inspiration from local geography and natural winemaking, to continually create unique cuvees. They work together, drawing on the knowledge of André Drappier, to carry out unprecedented projects. Massal selection, unique maceration, unexpected blending, ageing under the sea… these are just some of the experiences that bring their work as winemakers to life every day. Hugo Drappier has created Drappier Brut Nature Trop m’en faut! Coteaux Champenois from a forgotten Champagne grape variety, Fromenteau, also known as Pinot Gris. Present in Champagne since the 17th century but now rare, it offers a golden juice and delicate fruity notes. This cuvée is made from a single parcel of vines known as “Les Truchots”. Grown under Ecocert-certified organic farming methods, this south-facing vineyard rests on Kimmeridgian Jurassic soil.

    Potential of keeping

Like all wines, champagne can be kept for varying lengths of time, depending on the type. Under optimal storage conditions, champagne can be kept for 1 to 2 years for Brut cuvées, and up to 4/5 years or even longer for vintage and prestige champagnes. Whatever happens, rest assured that you'll never be able to open your champagne too early, as the Champagne Houses only release their cuvées when they have reached perfect ripeness and are ready for immediate consumption.
