Founded in 1808, the Drappier Champagne House, located in Urville on the Côte des Bar, is renowned for its powerful, characterful wines, housed in exceptional bottles. The family Champagne House is also known for its great Vintage cuvée, Cuvée Grande Sendrée. This prestigious cuvée takes its name from a parcel of land covered in ashes after the fire that ravaged Urville in 1838. Today, an “S” distinguishes this cuvée in memory of a spelling error that crept onto its label at the time of printing: “cendrée” became “sendrée”.

    To the eye

A golden color with amber nuances.

    On the nose

La Grande Sendrée subtly unfurls aromas of dried fruit, with hints of toast and beeswax, opening onto fruity notes of citrus, white-fleshed fruit and stone fruit.

    In the mouth

The palate favors vinosity, depth and structure.

    Food & champagne pairings

Ideal as an aperitif. Perfect with crayfish nage with grapefruit, scallop carpaccio, truffled Bresse poultry with cream.

    Ideal operating temperature

To be consumed at 7 °C.

    Potential of keeping

Like all wines, champagne can be kept for varying lengths of time, depending on the type. Under optimal storage conditions, champagne can be kept for 1 to 2 years for Brut cuvées, and up to 4/5 years or even longer for vintage and prestige champagnes. Whatever happens, rest assured that you'll never be able to open your champagne too early, as the Champagne Houses only release their cuvées when they have reached perfect ripeness and are ready for immediate consumption.

    Assembly :
With 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay, this perfectly balanced prestige Champagne favors power and high expression.
    Vinification :
Exclusively vinified in the best years, Grande Sendrée’s raw materials and techniques combine all the expertise of the Drappier Champagne House to produce a great Champagne wine. The oldest vines from the best plots are harvested with particular care. After a gentle pressing that extracts only the heart of the cuvée, a gravity-fed vinification with very little pumping and very little sulfur produces wines of remarkable finesse.
