“Our black grapes make the finest white wines”: the glory of Pinot Noir. La Grande Dame pays tribute to Madame Clicquot. In 1818, she created the very first rosé blend by combining Bouzy red wine with her white wines. La Grande Dame Rosé 2012 respects her vision, with 90% Pinot Noir mainly from the historic Grands Crus of the Veuve Clicquot terroir, plus a red wine added to the blend from a single parcel: the ‘Clos Colin’ parcel in Bouzy, a Grand Cru terroir.
    To the eye

An exaltation of the senses! Brilliant color with coppery highlights. The bubbles are shimmering and fine.

    On the nose

On the nose, floral notes (rose, lilac & violet), red fruit (redcurrant, raspberry) evolve into warmer, spicier notes (pepper, aniseed). On swirling, the bouquet becomes gourmand and voluptuous, with notes of brioche, bread, coffee and roasting, with light smoky notes.

    In the mouth

On the palate, after a straightforward attack, the wine is elegant and silky. This is a complex, lively wine with a long finish.

    Food & champagne pairings

Ideal as an aperitif, with garden produce (seasonal, local and extremely fresh), delicate and light dishes, iodized, salty, racy and refined products. Ideal with beef carpaccio, sea bream cevice, or short, energetic dishes (plancha, teppanyaki, wok, kamado, brazier).

    Ideal operating temperature

    Serve between 10 and 12 °C.

    Potential of keeping

Like all wines, champagne can be kept for varying lengths of time, depending on the type. Under optimal storage conditions, champagne can be kept for 1 to 2 years for Brut cuvées, and up to 4/5 years or even longer for vintage and prestige champagnes. Whatever happens, rest assured that you'll never be able to open your champagne too early, as the Champagne Houses only release their cuvées when they have reached perfect ripeness and are ready for immediate consumption.

    Assembly :
The blend of La Grande Dame 2012 Rosé is composed of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, offering a true balance between power and elegance, complemented by the addition of 13% red wine to the final blend.
