Louis Roederer Rosé 2017 in a few words: ” The softness and freshness of this Rosé 2017 are the result of this “infusion” that concentrated the best of the Pinot Noirs from Cumières. ” – Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, Chef de Caves.

Louis Roederer Rosé 2017 is a Rosé d’infusion: a long, gentle infusion of Pinot noir that extracts its juicy, ripe side while preserving its immense saline freshness. Some Chardonnay juice is poured into a Pinot Noir maceration, to ferment together and integrate perfectly.
Vintage 2017: The year of all dangers… an exceptionally hot and dry winter and spring marked by intense frosts from April 17 to 29, which recorded the sad record of 12 nights of frost. This was followed by a gloomy, wet and not particularly hot summer, which ended with a quasi-tropical (wet and hot) end to August favoring a significant progression of gray mold on ripening Pinot Noirs and Meuniers. The result is an accelerated, ultra-fast harvest, combined with a demanding, precise and methodical selection process, unprecedented for the House.
    To the eye

A beautiful pink color with hints of copper. Fine, regular effervescence.

    On the nose

Immediate bouquet of wild berries (wild strawberries and raspberries) and citrus (blood orange) with a few tart, powdery notes reminiscent of petals (rose macaroon). On aeration, citrus fruits give way to iodine and chocolate nuances, with a hint of spice and resin (cedar).

    In the mouth

Caressing, delicious, delicate and elegant on the palate. A sensation of silky texture, gently evaporating to give way to a cloud of delicate, slightly spicy fragrances. The fruitiness is concentrated in the mid-palate, almost liqueur-like, and energized by the fresh, iodized flavors. On the finish, greedy chocolate nuances combine with chalky freshness to give a long, pure, saline impression.

    Food & champagne pairings

Louis Roederer Rosé is best enjoyed as an aperitif, but can also accompany an entire meal.

    Ideal operating temperature

To appreciate all its finesse and aromas, champagne should be enjoyed chilled (but not iced). Depending on the cuvée, the ideal serving temperature is between 8 and 12°C.

    Potential of keeping

Like all wines, champagne can be kept for varying lengths of time, depending on the type. Under optimal storage conditions, champagne can be kept for 1 to 2 years for Brut cuvées, and up to 4/5 years or even longer for vintage and prestige champagnes. Whatever happens, rest assured that you'll never be able to open your champagne too early, as the Champagne Houses only release their cuvées when they have reached perfect ripeness and are ready for immediate consumption.
