Rosé Réserve
The result of a blend of up to 35% reserve wines, aged for an average of 5 years, Charles Heidsieck Rosé Réserve Magnum is inspired by the basis of the Brut Réserve blend, to which 5 to 6% of red Champagne wines from the Village des Riceys, the jewel of the Côte des Bar, have been added.
A selection of 40 emblematic crus and juices, exclusively from the first pressing, give this Rosé d’assemblage all its precision and delicacy.
Complexity – Precision – Generosity & Deepness: To achieve an ideal balance between freshness on the one hand, and structure and complexity on the other, the Cellar Master has kept to a House principle: he deliberately selects reserve wines (up to 35%) that are less mature than those of the Brut Réserve, 5 years on average.
All the wines are vinified plot by plot, grape variety by grape variety, in stainless steel tanks. The 5 to 6% of wines vinified as reds from “Les Riceys” provide aromatic freshness and reinforce the identity of the Rosé Réserve (fruity, greedy, acidulous).
Finally, Charles Heidsieck Rosé Réserve benefits from a longer maturation period of 3 to 4 years in thousand-year-old chalk pits, far beyond the norms of the Champagne Appellation.
The half-bottle format (0.375l) is ideal for your one-to-one tasting moments, your small attentions, your gifts and your corporate events.
Tasting Notes
A subtle powdery pink hue, with luminous hints of rosehip. A fine and delicate effervescence, thanks to a longer maturation period.
The proportion of 35% reserve wines, both white and red, gives this blended rosé a tender and complex nose. The first aromas are reminiscent of strawberry jam in a "homemade" cauldron, mixed with the fruitiness of vine peaches. Then we perceive melting and warm notes of gingerbread delicately enhanced with cinnamon.
Assertive, greedy and deep, the palate evokes a sabayon of strawberries, raspberries and blackberries as well as the smoothness of a whipped cream.
Food pairings
Charles Heidsieck Rosé Reserve is ideal with flavours from the land: Lomo Iberico / Mortadella from Bologna, Iberian pork tenderloin, lacquered duck breast, honey and figs. From the sea: Salmon marinated in dill. From the cheese: Half-aged Mimolette. Sweet notes: Bouchée with red fruits, or a Brioche perdue, mango coulis.
