    Blanc de Blancs 2014

“Our Blanc de Blancs Vintage is a pure, tense, fine, brilliant wine. Its contrasting tones oscillate between a chiselled, intense acidity and the tender lightness of fresh hazelnuts notes, almonds and white flowers with hints of acacia, broom and honeysuckle. – Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, Louis Roederer Cellar Master.

    Tasting Notes

The Blanc de Blancs 2014 has a bright golden colour with green highlights and a soft, slow and regular effervescence.

The nose reveals a pure, delicate and airy bouquet, with nuances of delicate flowers such as honeysuckle and jasmine, as well as notes of ripe and almost roasted citrus fruits. It then opens with iodine and sea breeze sensations, combined with the warm, sweet notes of pastries just out of the oven.

The attack on the palate is typical of Chardonnay: smooth and slender, with a soft finish. Floral notes with a hint of honey, white fruit and dried fruit are combined with the chalky minerality of the Côte des Blancs. The texture is reminiscent of sugarplums, a sensation reinforced by a soft, enveloping effervescence. The palate continues with finesse, elegance and freshness, reinforced by hints of fresh mint and basil.

    Technical sheet

Blend : 100% Chardonnay - The Blanc de Blancs Vintage is aged for an average of 5 years on lees and also benefits from a minimum of 6 months rest after disgorgement in order to perfect its maturity

Vinification : As early as 1830, Louis Roederer acquired a great knowledge of the terroirs, separate vinification and mastered effervescence. In the heart of the Côte des Blancs, where the Chardonnay grape flourishes on limestone soils, Louis Roederer has selected two exceptional grands crus, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Avize, whose typicality and complementarity allow the production of intense wines expressing finesse and aromatic richness. The Blanc de Blancs Vintage is partially vinified in wood and malolactic fermentation has not been carried out in order to preserve the freshness of this wine.

    Dosage : 8 g/litre

Characteristics : The 2014 Vintage: The year 2014 was marked by a beautiful and dry spring, a cool and rainy autumnal summer and a hot, sunny and very dry September, typical of an August.
